SEPLITE® CM1840
SEPLITE® Chromatographic Resin
Strong acid cation resin
SEPLITE® CM1840 Chromatographic Resin Descriptions:
SEPLITE® CM1840 series are gel type strong acid cation exchange resin. This category have an excellent uniformity of particle size with high total capacity and rapid kinetic performance. SEPLITE® CM1840 mainly combines with chromatographic separation process (SMB, SSMB), widely used in the separation and purification of amino acid fermentation liquid, as well as the desalination of nucleic acid, for the separation of glucose and fructose in the production of high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), high-purity fructose, and polyols/sugar alcohols.
The resins are produced fully in accordance with the FDA (US Food & Drug Administration), also meeting the regulations prescribed under Resolution ResAP (2004) 3 on ion exchange and adsorbent resins used in the processing of foodstuffs.
Please follow our start-up recommendations which is available upon request, when using our products in food applications.

SEPLITE® CM1840 Chromatographic Resin Tips of Usage:
1.Pre-Condition of fresh resin
Chromatographic resin is the finished product after transformation, which is used in the food industry. Before use, take 3bv pure water to rinse the resin to avoid impurities and pollutants entering into the resin layer during the filling process. After that, take pure water 2-3bv/h to recoil the resin layer, completely fluff the resin layer, and then stop recoil. When the resin layer settles normally and evenly, discharge the upper water of the resin to less than 5cm, so as to avoid excessive dilution of the material liquid during operation.
2. Operation
The feed liquid enters the chromatographic column at a constant flow rate in a positive direction, and the feed volume is accurately measured. After the feed liquid is fed, the pure water enters the resin layer in a positive direction for product separation. The outflow liquid is collected every certain volume at the outlet of the chromatographic column, and then the composition of the outflow liquid is detected. The separation effect can be determined from the detection concentration distribution of components A and B.
3. Deeper treatment
If runs for a long time, the protein, impurities and chromatogram in the feed liquid will have certain pollution to the resin. According to the condition of the liquid, 4% sodium hydroxide solution at 50 ℃ could be used to soak the column regularly.
SEPLITE® CM1840 Chromatographic Resin Precautions:
Resins should be stored in sealed containers or bags where temperature was above 0 ℃ in dry conditions without exposure to direct sunlight. Do not mix ion exchange resin with strong oxidizing agents; otherwise it will cause violent reactions.
In case of eyes contact with resins, rinse eyes immediately with plenty of water, and consult a specialist. Material and samples must be disposed according to local regulations.
Dry polymers will expand when become wetted and may cause an exothermic reaction. Spilled materials may be slippery.
